Latvia awards me highest civilian honour from its Ministry of Defence

Was deeply honoured on in March (2022) to receive the highest civilian honour bestowed by the Latvian Ministry of Defence, the Medal of Honorary Recognition. In the photos you see Latvian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Artis Pabriks, making the award in recognition of the work my colleagues and I have done at #mlinstitute in favour of Canada’s commitment to the #NATO mission in #Latvia. We were early advocates of Canadian leadership of this mission, a position amply vindicated by Russia’s brutal and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine. Deputy PM Pabriks joined us for a Chatham House rules session with Canadian and foreign policy makers during his visit to Ottawa.
