Everybody take a valium: Does Canada’s retirement income system need an overhaul?

A number of governments in Canada have announced their intention to review the adequacy of Canada’s retirement income system, and as a result public consultations are being held across the country. At the invitation of Jack Mintz of the University of Calgary’s Public Policy School, I was recently on a panel at one of these consultations organised by the School in Calgary. Below is the text of my remarks, in which I make the case that Canada’s system is actually performing exceptionally well and the case for major reform has not been made.
