Negotiating with Donald Trump: the necessity of the Grand Bargain; 12 July 2025

On 12 July I was interviewed by CBC News regarding the latest threat of tariffs emanating from the Trump White House. In the interview I made the case MLI has been making for some time, namely that in order to deal ourselves a better hand in negotiating with the US administration we need to widen the range of issues on the table to include a broad range of issues where we have something to offer the US: Defence, border security, critical minerals, energy, fentanyl, national security, organised crime and more.
