As part of the capital’s annual Tulip Festival, on Monday May 24 (Victoria Day), I will be participating in a panel discussion in Ottawa on Canada’s changing values and institutions, with Andrew Cohen and Ron Caza. The event will take place in The Mirror Tent, Major’s Hill Park, Ottawa.
Here is how the organisers describe the panel (although if I have anything to do with it, we will spend approximately 15 seconds discussing the monarchy, which is fine as it is and not going anywhere any time soon…):

Join Mr. Andrew Cohen, President, Historica-Dominion Institute; Maitre Ron Caza, Minority Rights Advocate, Heenan, Blaikie, and Brian Lee Crowley, Director of the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, Member of the ‘Mazankowski Committee’ on healthcare reform and author of Fearful Symmetry: The Fall and Rise of Canada’s Founding Values, come together on Victoria Day for a discussion on our changing values and institutions. Is the Monarchy an institution that is likely to survive in Canada? Should it? How can we preserve our francophone culture in the face of changing demographics?
